Introduction

Collection of land races of Egyptian vegetables was initiated within the framework of an agreement between the Egyptian Government, represented by the Horticultural Research Institute and the Field Crops Research Institute (both in Giza) and the International Board for Plant Genetic Resources (IBPGR) in Rome.
